UT at Austin (‘69-‘70) – three disastrous semesters (directly resulted in the following)

US Navy schools (‘71-‘75) – various electronics and aviation related

McMurry University (‘79-‘83) – core curriculum, no degree

Cisco Junior College (‘94-‘95) – Electronic Technology, AAS degree

Abilene Christian Univeersity (‘96-‘99) – Industrial Technology, BAS degree

(Whew! Only took me 30 years.)

Well, I won’t go into my whole life history since HS. I will try to restrict my self to what has happening since the last reunion. As far as successes go, there are only a few. 1. I quit smoking. 2. My kids have all grown to majority age and are as of this moment employed. 3. I finally finished a degree plan at ACU no less (imagine that!). 4. I survived a heart attack.

Failures, yeah I've had plenty. Jobs, careers, diets, and one marriage all fall into this category. I know I am not unique in this respect but I don’t really want to go into the details here but will be glad to converse with any and all on my inadequacies in person over a scotch on the rocks. For the moment I prefer that my dirty little secrets remain just that; dirty and secret.

I'm busted, a classmate of ours, came into the store and said " I know you from your picture on the eagles69 web site". To maintain discretion, I will not say who that person was but if any of you who have visited the liquor store where I am a lowly clerk please comment or if you perfer to keep it low key send me a private message. I would love to hear from you and I will be discrete.

Getting my butt stomped at the gravel pits a week before the class picnic......smoking with the rest of the "thugs" at the morning breaks outside the industrial arts building.......Spiders and Sophists in Mrs. Ligons junior class......Yes, there will be more.

Just a couple or three items that I remember:
1. Filling the helium balloons for homecoming was a religious experience....speaking in tounges and swooning (Donald Duck and hypoxia).
2. Circling Mack's and getting a face full of crushed ice from a car going the opposite direction. I found out years (about 30) later that the ice was launched from a "pop" gun fired by a Cooper babe and her friend from Ft. Worth. Anyone out there have a similar experience and perpetrators? Message me and let's compare notes.
3. The Knives.....yes the knives. I remember a meeting at the home of a future physician that was overtly to decide what to do with the knives. At the time however, my take on it at was, the purpose of the meeting was to "legitimize" the prank. If that did not work, then spread and dilute the blame (yes, the roots of my cynicism and paranoia run deep).
