Bobby was my fist Real contact and Friend, when I moved from Odessa to Abilene, August 1966.
I was "upset", confused, disoriented...with the move - having lived 14+ years in Odessa, and my recently graduated brother, playing on Permian's 1st State Championship!!!!  Anyway - Bobby was very insightful, observant, regarding my attitude(s).  I literally, thanked God, on many occasions, for "sending" Bobby My way..!
I'm certain Our relationship/friendship helped me begin to fit in at AHS.
We remained Friends throughout our HS years, and beyond.
As adults & parents, we spent vacation time to stay at each others' homes at times.
Our two girls and the 3 Klahn girls had a lot of fun time together.  Another time, Bobby & Vicki, Barbara & I,
(before daughters) went camping just East of Dallas, expecting to have a laid back, restful weekend.  The weather turned bad - really Bad..!  We found out the next day that a tornado touched down, just a mile away from our pop-up camper..!

The last time I saw Bobby...he just showed up - unannounced - at my last school of employment.  He must have given the front office a really good "salesman talk"...cause they let him go straight to my classroom..!  I was both dumbfounded and joyous, to see my dear friend...!

I will simply close by repeating the same prayer I said sooo many times, in the late 1960's..:  "Thank You, Jesus, for sending Bobby Klahn, into my life.  He's the answer to many of my prayers - thank You.  Amen".

May God Bless Bobby's soul in the Heaven.

While I was teaching/coaching at AHS, Bobby and I went on a lot of Football scouting trips for Coach Bill Shipman. I learned a lot from him since he played varisty level at AHS.  Vaya con Dios Amigo.

I remember Bobby as just a really nice guy, nice to everyone no matter who they were.  I am sorry to hear of his passing.

Bobby lived near me and we've kept pretty close contact thru the years so I'd like to tell this last chapter of his life. He didn't retire until a few months ago. He was picked up by ambulance Christmas night 2020 with covid  and taken to Dallas ICU for several weeks. He eventually went home but was in and out of the hosp for the next couple of years. I called Bobby way more than he called me but on Wednesday he called me to chat and sounded much stronger than he had in a while. Then Vicki called Friday morning with the news. I will miss that guy!
