Robert Hill

Robert Hill passed away peacefully on Sunday night February 13. He had a stroke along with complications and was put on hospice a week ago.  More information will be posted when available.

Robert Hill
April 9, 1951 - February 13, 2022
Mansfield , Texas - Robert Elliott Hill, 70, a lifelong resident of Arlington, Texas sought comfort in the loving arms of His Lord and Savior on February 13, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on April 09 to Henry and Claudia Hill in Pasadena, California. After graduating from Abilene High School, a proud Abilene High Eagle, Robert chased his dreams to be a structural engineer at the University of Texas at Arlington on a full ride playing both baseball and football. Robert would later get his masters in engineering and run, in his families eyes the worlds greatest engineering firm, Brockette Davis Drake in Dallas, Texas.

Robert was known by most as a mind beyond his years, a self proclaimed knowledge of every single high school mascot and anthem, lover of all things oldies, Baylor Bear athletic fanatic, builder of the worlds largest concrete building, a survivor of getting a gator stuck up a tree and telling the tale, but most importantly a loving husband, father, and a proud papa. He had a passion for life and making his impact on everyone he met. Robert was the kind of person that made you want to reach for the stars and push yourself to be the best that you could be. He had a way of bringing people together and letting you know just how truly special you were.

If Robert were to leave you with three things it would be this: first and foremost that God is good all the time; second that cement is used to make concrete and that they are most certainly not the same; and lastly to always be proud of your last name.

Robert is survived by the love of his life, his wife Judi Hill of 37 years, his son Aaron Hill and his wife Jenny, his daughter Rachel Hill and her husband Richard Testa, his daughter Jordan Hill, his granddaughter Bekah Ann Testa, his soon to be grandson of Aaron and Jenny Hill, and his many relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 25 at the South Oaks Campus of Fielder Church, 5925 U.S. 287 Frontage Road, Arlington, TX 76017. The family encourages everyone to come as you are and to be ready to celebrate one remarkable man together with them.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations would be sent to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Association in honor of Robert Elliott Hill. Link for donations: https://act.alz.org/site/TR/Events/Tributes-AlzheimersChampions?pg=fund&fr_id=1060&pxfid=730272

Rickie Vinson (Family)

This is Barbara Vinson (Fahrlender), Rickie's little sister.  I just wanted to say that I knew Robert before I even started school.  His mom, Claudia, and my mom were Cub Scout den mothers.  I got dragged to every scouting event, so I was around Robert, his brother, Stephen and Claudia a lot.  The entire Hill family always treated this little sister with kindness.  Later, I became "friends" with Stephen on Facebook.  His kindness was still intact and I was blessed with his friendship until he died a couple of years ago from cancer.

RIP Robert.  Tell Rickie hello and that we miss him.

A few years ago, I had the pleasure of spending sometime with several Franklin Jr. High School friends.  Robert Hill was among the 10 or so that met for lunch that day.  I am very thankful that we had this time togeher.  I will always remember the smiles, laughter and memories we shared.  For some of us, it was the last time we would ever see one another.  At the end of our meal, the server announced the tab had been paid.  I looked at Robert sitting next to me and said, "it was you who bought our lunch, wasn't it?"  Robert just smiled and gave me a wink. Young and old this Eagle will forever be remembered as a true Class Act.  Rest in Peace our childhood friend.

Robert and I were cousins all through junior high and high school.  We weren't really but all through the years we called each other "cuz".
Robert will be missed by all but we all have fond memories of him.  Such wonderful memories are a blessing to each of us who have them.
Rest In Peace, Robert.

It is sad to see yet another of our compadres leave us unexpectedly. I played many sports with and against Robert.I admired his abilities and spent some time with him at UTA where I saw him last. He was one of the good guys even though he walked funny. He will be missed by those he knew. I feel blessed having known him.

I had a  huge crush on Robert in high school. On Friday nights, the girls and I would circle Macks and watch for him but never did he give me a look. Sounds like he grew up to be good person as well as a very good husband and father. May he rest in peace.

I will remember Robert as a good friend and a good person.  I remember having some deep discussions about Vietnam and the politics of the day.  We had our share of fun times to.  Rest In Peace.

I hope it's ok for me to post something here even though I was a couple years behind you and graduated in 1971. As a sophomore when all of you were seniors, I can honestly say that we (almost the entire sophomore class) looked up to the seniors with "awe and admiration"!! You were our heroes and we wanted to "be like you" in almost every way possible......academically, athletically, artistically, and of course, socially!!  Robert Hill was an icon of sorts, and not selling anyone else in your senior class "short" because there were many of you who fit the same description, but I was fortunate to get to know Robert a little better because of our love for baseball and Blackie Blackburn. He was also a pitcher which was my favorite position in baseball, so we had a lot in common. The bus trips to and from Odessa, Midland, Lubbock, San Angelo, etc. we're the most fun because Robert and William Robinson would literally "hold court" in the back of the bus for anyone to listen to, and I can guarantee you that all of us sophomores would fight to get a seat near the back of the bus, just so we could hear what those two guys were talking about!! Whether it was baseball, girls to date (or which ones not to!😂), favorite teachers, places to hang out (Mack Eplen's!), or whatever the topic, Robert and William were the experts on those topics!!  Plus, the fact that a couple of senior boys would even take the time to sit and visit with sophomores (saphmores is how Coach Blackburn described us!) I honestly felt like I was "one of them"! RIP Robert, and I hope that you have had time now to hunt down Coach Blackburn and his sweet wife Nadine. I'm sure they were waiting for you, along with a host of family and friends!❤️🙏
