Elaine Van Houten (Holley)

Elaine Marie Holley, 69, of Clyde died Monday, November 2, 2020 at home. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Clyde Cemetery with Dr. Toby Henson officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Elaine was born May 4, 1951 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Phillip James and Marie Josephine (Rolfes) Van Houten. She graduated from Cooper High School and then graduated from North Texas State with a degree in computer science and programming. She married Bill Holley in Buffalo Gap on May 18, 1996 and moved to Clyde from Abilene the same year. She worked for West Texas Utilities for 17 years in IT and human resources. She was a member of Discovery Texans for five years. She attended First Baptist Church of Clyde.

She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Carroll Holley, Sr. of Clyde; three sons, William C. Holley, Jr. and wife, June of Haskell, Clifton T. Holley and wife, Tina, of Wesley Chapel, Florida and John W. Holley and wife, Sandra, of Vernon; brother Louis Van Houten and wife, Betty,  of Mena, Arkansas; a nephew, Erick Van Houten and wife, Rachel and great niece and great nephew;  six grandchildren: William C. Holley, III and wife, Carissa, Travis Holley and wife, Amy, Chelsea DeLorge and husband Jeremy, Cody Holley, Taylor Holley, and Lacie Fritze and husband, Kyle; ten great grandchildren: Tyeler Holley and wife Anne, Savanah Caddell and husband Jonah, William C. Holley, IV, Taylor Holley, Jon Holley, Emily Clark and Mason Fein, Lindsey Holley, Brantley Holley and Wesley DeLorge; and two great-great grandchildren, Jackson Caddell and Charlotte Holley.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Misty Jo Holley.
