Johnnie Cleo Parker, 68, of Taylors, South Carolina went to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 27, 2019. She was born December 10, 1950 to the late Fred D Parker and late Mildred Gordy Parker. Johnnie's youth was spent in Abilene, Texas where she attended Abilene High School and Hardin-Simmons University. She transferred to Lander University and completed her Bachelor degree in 1974 while living in the Greenville SC area on her father’s farm. After graduating she entered a career in teaching and moved to Hartwell, Georgia. From there Johnnie returned to Greenville, SC and taught in the Greenville County School System from 1979 - 2009. She also received a Masters degree in 1979 from Clemson University and a Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in 2000.

Johnnie was quite accomplished at sewing. She would spend months making her creations for family Christmas gifts. There were many fun trips and happy times with her friends in the Foothills Piecemakers Quilting Guild. For Johnnie, technology was a second hobby and she seemed always to be the first in line for the newest gadget.

Johnnie was predeceased by two brothers, Fred Gordy Parker and Bobby Gene Parker and a niece, Linda Parker Vitale. She is survived by nieces and nephews; Bobby G Parker, Jr., Richard D Parker (Debbie), Christy Parker Johnson (Andy), Cynthia Parker Sherbert (David) and Daniel C Parker (Christy).

Johnnie was an active member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church, Memorials may be made to the Deacons Fund at MRPC, 207 Mitchell Road, Greenville, SC 29615.
