Sorry to hear of Michael's passing.  I have watched the video of the Celebration of his life.  He was so was so loved.  May  his member be a blessing to all who loved him.  Go with God Michael  you were so blessed.

To Kerry's catalogue of adjectives I would add athletic, aloof, intelligent. At the end, one must add brave in suffering.

Eternal peace grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

It is clear Mike lived and loved life to the fullest!  The video says so much about him and the article fills in many blanks.  His free spirit blessed all who knew him.  RIP Mike and soar like an Eagle!

I watched Michael's video.  So, very touching and telling about our classmate.  Wow...!  I am very thankful that this video was produced.  I'm thankful that it touched my life.  I hardly knew Michael at AHS.  We simply lived in totally different "planes".  I did know him during the short time period of running for Student Council President.
I learned from that experience, two things.  First, that Michael was tenacious about filling that position.  And, secondly, he was most deserving..!  I would encourage Everyone to watch this video of Michael's Celebration of Life.  And....I want to encourage all classmates to prepare their own similar video - for that future day, when we will all spread our wings, and soar the Great Hereafter.  Make your videos, so we can celebrate your lives.  Lives that are just as poignant and beautiful, exciting and funny, eventful and important.
God speed to Michael...and God bless us all.

So sorry to hear of Michael's passing. I did not know Michael that well in high school, but voted for him  for class president ,as he stood up to the administration on matters of student rights. Very oppresive times.

Thanks for what you did with your life. You made this a better world.

The You tube tribute was wonderful to watch.

"I 'm the one that's  got to die, when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to...." Jimi Hendrix," Axis: Bold as Love"

Thank you.

My fondest memory of Mike is not for those who blush easily.  We were seniors and standing in line at the cafeteria..  I remember there were 6 or seven of us.  We were discussing stealing the knives out of the cafeteria and getting them engraved.  Mike walked up and without saying hi utters to all of us “what’s going on here.... a mass debate?”   He put on a big smile being proud of his pun.  May he Rest In Peace.

Mike and I sat next to each other for a time in Mr. Springer's senior English class. We were studying poetry and on that particular day "Ode to a Grecian Urn" by Keats. Mr. Springer thought he'd get an insightful answer from Mike when he asked, "Mike, what are your thoughts as to why Keats wrote this particular poem." Mike did not hesitate a lick before answering..."Well, I'm thinking someone told him he needed to urn his keats!" We could hardly keep it together. And Mister Springer just shook his head. The puns just rolled off of his tongue. He was so much fun, and along with other bright minds kept that class rolling all year long!

Mike and I were in alphabetical order a lot of the time. lol.   Abedin - Anderson.  I remember him having such a dry sense of humor...the kind that sneaks up on you.   From reading all his accomplishments, I so wish I had kept up with him during the grown-up part of our lives.  What an amazing resume!  Much love and kindness to his family and another sadness for an AHS '69 classmate.

Like many, I was sad to hear that Mike had died. He had been someone who made AHS a more interesting place. Though I didn't have much contact with him after we left Abi!ene, I expected he would continue to follow his own path. The Celebration of Life video shows that was true. He clearly touched many peoples' lives.

The word "unique" is entirely fitting . The world is smaller without him.
